On Thursday 22 August 2024 RDI organised a Townhall and Media Interactive Discussion on Coal Mining in Enugu at the Oakland Hotel in Enugu.
The event was organised in collaboration with New Life Community Care Initiative (NELCCI), Neighborhood Environmental Watch (NEW) Foundation, Environmental Defenders Network (EDEN) and Community Development Advocacy Foundation (CODAF).
Participants were drawn from former miners and the wards of deceased miners from Okpara, Onyeama and Iv Valley communities as well as journalists from notable media organizations in Enugu.
