On Monday 6 May 2024 the Renevlyn Development Initiative, the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) and the Joint Action Front (JAF) jointly organised a virtual media briefing on the Illegal Sack of Lagos Water Corporation Staff.
The briefing had the national and state executives of AUPCTRE led by National President, Benjamin Anthony, National General Secretary, Comrade Sikiru Waheed and Lagos chapter secretary, Comrade Abiodun Bakare. Civil society was led by Comeade Achike Chude of Joint Action Front (JAF) and Philip Jakpor, Executive Director of RDI.
In his opening, Philip Jakpor explained that the convening was to update the media on developments in the water sector partaining to the illegal sack of about 400 staff of the corporation and actions civil society and labour intend to embark on
